General i) The main philosophy behind counseling for admission into professional institutions is that a candidate, after selecting a seat, be given one more opportunity either to continue with the seat so selected during the first round of counseling or if he/she so desires to select a seat of his / her choice during the second round which shall be final. By adopting this philosophy, all candidates get an opportunity twice either to confirm the seat selected or to change their seat depending on the circumstances. Based on the mandate given to it, an entrance test for making admissions to Under Graduate programme in unaided private Engineering colleges in Karnataka was held on 08 May, 2016; for the first time COMEDK conducted the Test online in 697 Test centers located in 153 cities across the country. As against 68,628 candidates applied seeking Engineering UG seats 55,680 (81%) candidates wrote the test on 8th May 2016. Subsequently, on 11th instant Provisional Answer Keys were published and clarifications sought from the candidates; accordingly, as many as 78 Candidates sought certain clarifications.
